Factory Tour
Located in Sun Prairie WI, Trac-Rite Door is a wholly owned subsidiary of Trachte Building Systems, the leader in self-storage buildings.
The manufacturing plant covers over 100,000 sq ft of space.
The guides are created by a rollformer which cuts the raw material to length, punches holes, forms the profile, and applies the plastic guide runner material in one swift operation. The sturdy door guides contribute to a strong wind rating.
Steel is delivered to Trac-Rite pre-painted in a variety of durable colors.
The drums are welded to the axles, and each spring is fitted with a ratcheting mechanism. These assemblies are ready to be attached to the door curtain.
Flat steel passes through the rollformer where it is cut to length, then formed by a series of rollers into a ribbed profile. The ribs create exceptional stiffness in one direction, yet allow the door to easily coil above the opening.
The corrugated sheets are seamed together. The bottom bar, felt strips, latch, and axles are then assembled to it.
Once assembled, each new door is carefully rolled with a foam sheet to protect the finish during transit.
Trac-Rite doors are ready for bulk delivery.
Individual crates are available for smaller orders.
The doors are loaded onto a flatbed trailer for delivery. Our factory also has room to load multiple semis at once indoors.
Once loaded, flatbeds full of doors are protected from wind and road debris with a tarp.
